The Graces of Texas

by Philip Monroe Grace

A centralized place for Grace Surname Researchers to
post messages, queries and compare notes!
These pages are the result of  looking for my great grandmother Susan Anna Grace's parents.  I had collected so many records of the Grace family in the South, I decided to post the results for others researching the Grace surname in the states of Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Florida, Louisiana, Kentucky,  Mississippi, Tennessee & Texas.
None of the marriage databases go beyond 1900.  I have not been able to locate any later than that online.  If you notice, Georgia is the biggest marriage database and also the oldest marriages are recorded there. I was also only able to locate one marriage each in the states of Florida and Louisiana.  This could be because they are simply not online  (I know there were Graces in both states after the Civil  War and maybe before!)   If you know of any marriages that took place in any of these seven states and they are not in this database, please contact me and I will add them.
The Civil War Lists are taken directly from the National Archives list at the Civil War Soldiers and Sailors System. It is possible that your ancestor could be on this list several times if his name was recorded differently on the rolls.  (My 2G grandfather's name is on there twice!)
There is a photo album with photographs of the members of my Grace family.  I would love to place other photos in an album for any other Grace family!
The graphics on this site include the state flowers of all  seven states.
Thanks to
 Juelie, the Santa Lady
for making them and putting them on the web for me to grab and play with!
